INDIO: It's that time again: Coachella rolls into the desert tomorrow. The music festival gets fancier with every year and that goes for the food, too. Eater says to expect vendors from Coolhaus, Kogi, Mr.Cecil's, Green Truck, Freebirds World Burrito, Full of Life Flatbread, Pink's, Border Grill Truck, and the Get Shaved Truck. There's even a freakin' farmer's market.
FAIRFAX: The Fat Dog gastropub opened at 801 N. Fairfax yesterday. The LA branch of the Fat Dog Montrose adds to the expanding amenities that opened on Fairfax after the 801 development helped changed this former moribund stretch.
LITTLE TOKYO: Earlier in the month, Cafe Dulce opened up in the Japanese Village Plaza in Little Tokyo with an assortment of French and Japanese delicacies. Additional culinary pleasures will soon be around the corner, when a brick-and-mortar version of the Flying Pig truck taking up a spot at the Hikari apartments' retail space.
SANTA MONICA: The former Anisette is turning into The Misfit, a sorta high-concept joint with vegan food and "debauchery." The restaurant comes from LGO Hospitality and the whole idea behind it based on a muse who looks like Katy Perry.
