Once dubbed the Emerald Palace, developer Rick Caruso's planned Burton Way apartment project, located at Burton Way and La Cienega Boulevard, and now simply called 8500, is sporting a new look. While the height and size hasn't changed--this is still 88 apartments, all above a Trader Joe’s--the exterior has. Caruso Affiliated’s in-house design team is behind the project, helped by Irvine-based architects MVE Partners in Irvine, and Togawa Smith Martin in Los Angeles. You can start renting at 8500 and buy salty TJ food stuffs in fall 2012, the projected finish date.
