In 1955, Covina's fire department burned down an 1870s-era house just for practice. Unfortunately, it might have been the city's oldest house, and Covina's founder had definitely lived there when he arrived in the 1880s. A few decades later and the nearly one acre lot that sat beneath the historic house is for sale, asking $559,000. The land is zoned commercial and comes with a 100-year-old oak tree. [SGVT]
