Did you like Case Study architects before they sold out and made it into Arts & Architecture? Then Craig Ellwood's 1949 Broughton House, which predates his two fifties-era Case Studies, might be for you. The three bedroom, one and three quarter bathroom house on Beverly Glen came on the market in June 2009, asking $885,000 and flaunting its "Miesian styled steel beams," but after a couple price changes, it was delisted in January 2011. This time around, it's laying off the Mies and focusing instead on the Broughton's "proto-modernism." Ellwood's early stuff is now asking $799,000.
