Rumors of that long-planned AEG hotel north of LA Live may finally be panning out. Blogdowntown reports that Ted Tanner, VP of AEG Real Estate, recently told a crowd at the Los Angeles Convention and Exhibition Authority that the company is under contract with a hotel developer. According to Tanner, plans about the deal will be announced in the next two weeks. (Since 2008, Tanner and other AEG-related staffers have been talking up this mystery hotel at the corner of Olympic and Francisco streets.) With this news, we'll wait to see if Majestic announces plans for a competing hotel in Industry. [Blogdowntown]
