Senate Bill 1407 was passed to finance courthouse construction around the state, but some architects have been frustrated with roadblocks that slowed down funding of the projects. Something is going forward--word comes that Moore Ruble Yudell, the local architecture firm group behind that much-talked about Santa Monica garage, was selected to design the new Santa Barbara Criminal Courthouse, according to the Santa Barbara Independent."The proposed project, which is in the site selection phase, will provide a new 8-courtroom, 97,000 square foot building to consolidate criminal and traffic court operations from three buildings into one facility."
