Man, think of all the crazy things you could do with a 40 foot deep tunnel leading from Griffith Park to Silver Lake. The DWP is actually carving out more than one, as part of the Headworks Reservoir project, which will replace the Silver Lake and Ivanhoe reservoirs with one huge covered reservoir in the northwestern part of Griffith Park. Cool as the engineering may be, the locals are not impressed that the project is behind schedule and causing road closures and bus service interruptions. [Image via LADWP] [KABC]
