LAFAYETTE PARK: Tomorrow is the ribbon-cutting for the Kanner Architects-designed $9.8 million Lafayette Park Recreation Center, a project that's been under construction for the last couple of years. A Department of Recreation and Parks project, the 15,000 square foot eco-friendly facility will have multipurpose classroom spaces, a technology lab and a state-of-the-art gymnasium. A re-build of the existing center and an addition, the building, was paid for in part by Prop K funds (a 1996 City Park Bond Initiative that funds open-space development).
WEST HOLLYWOOD: Wow, that one is finishing quickly. On Feb. 28, a ceremony will celebrate the topping out of the Cesar Pelli-designed Red Building, according to the WeHo News. The building will be finished later this year. [WeHo News]
