Those days of staring at the wall as you wait for a ride to Pasadena or Boyle Heights are over. Arrival time screens are being installed along the Gold Line, reports Brigham Yen. The subway stations in Hollywood and Downtown have had these monitors for a while, but they're new to the Gold Line. As New York magazine pointed out recently, countdown clocks give transit users a bit of assurance: "the sense of control gained leads to significantly greater customer satisfaction... consumers are more likely to forgive a longer than a shorter wait, provided they are simply kept informed about how long the wait will be."
