Santa Monica's Construction Boom Complications

New, 3 comments

Santa Monica officials are trying to plan ahead for the glut of construction set to hit the downtown district in the next few years (e.g., the Civic Center park, the Expo Line station, a new movie theater, The Village housing development, etc.). The city council is set to discuss mitigation plans related to construction, mostly regarding parking—one garage is getting torn down and another is getting renovated at the same time--at their meeting tonight, reports the the Santa Monica Daily Press. Ideas being floated are temporary lots, shuttle services from far-away garages, and phone applications directing drivers to available spots. [SMDP]
