Got a couple bits of news for all you Clarence Smale-heads out there. (Just kidding--we know you prefer to be called "Smale-mates.") The first concerns the Mediterranean house in Los Feliz that the architect designed in 1924. Listed for sale back in September 2010 at $1.899 million, the four bedroom property suffered a couple of price chops before getting pulled from the market in January 2011. Following its relisting in April, the house's asking price was reduced to $1.649 million, and as of October 20, a sale is pending. In other Smale-related news, there's currently a one-bedroom apartment available in his 1930 Art Deco complex on Cloverdale Avenue, aka Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #427. Per the Craigslist posting, the apartment up for grabs is a 1,340 square foot corner unit with hardwood floors, original windows, vintage bathroom tile, crown moldings, and one dedicated garaged parking spot. Monthly rent for the pet-friendly apartment is $2,250.
