Time vs. Space at LACMA, Scottish Art in Boyle Heights

New, 9 comments

MIRACLE MILE: Dimensions collapsed in on each other earlier this week as City Councilmember Tom LaBonge presented LACMA with this sign designating the location of Pacific Standard Time (Ok, PST isn't actually a time, it's a six month long survey of the LA mid-century art scene. But it's still not a place). The sign will be posted outside LACMA. [Curbed Inbox]

BOYLE HEIGHTS: A trio of Scots (artist Nicola Atkinson, Belle & Sebastian member Stevie Jackson, and architect/urban designer Lee Ivett) have come to urban:sanctuary in Boyle Heights to present Wee, a "series of public work" that includes "several wee interventions including singing and exchanging objects for discussion about the impact of working in a wee way." We think it's probably one of those things you have to experience to get, but Atkinson and Jackson will lead a music master class Friday and Wee opens Saturday. Info here (warning: auto music).
