PASADENA: The Pasadena Playhouse District is getting crosswalk art at six different crossings, all near arty institutions (the Pacific Asia Museum, the Pasadena Museum of California Art, the Pasadena Playhouse, Laemmle's, Vroman's, the Boston Court Performing Arts Center, and the Ice House). The installations by Cynthia Luna are scheduled to be finished on Thursday. A press release says: "The art will be seen clearly both day and night while providing for pedestrian safety by demarcating the crosswalk area. The artwork was inspired by the District’s architecture, trees and Pasadena’s iconic Rose Parade." [Curbed Inbox]
PASADENA: The Santa Anas may have been destroying everything in their path this past week, but they are also shining a little light on Frank Lloyd Wright's Millard House, aka La Miniatura. A tipster writes: "One good benefit from the windstorm affecting Pasadena is that a lot of tree branche[s] and bushes had fallen and been removed so that you can actually see La Miniatura house from Rosemont Ave." The house has been on and off the market for two and a half years now. More visible, more sellable, perhaps? [Curbed Inbox]
