Poor Highway 39. It's been closed for ages and now Caltrans wants to ditch it all together. The Pasadena Star-News reports that "Caltrans is now pursuing plans to legally abandon the highway used by millions to access the Angeles National Forest." Routine maintenance on the highway costs about $1.6 million a year and Caltrans is talking to the county and the Forest Service about taking responsibility for little 39. [PSN, image via]
