The California Supreme Court has posted a notice of forthcoming filing (pdf) of a ruling in California Redevelopment Association et al. v. Matasantos et al. The opinions in the case, which will decide the legality of the state legislature's actions to suspend local redevelopment activities and redistribute redevelopment funds, will be announced Thursday, *December 29 at 10 am. Back in August, Los Angeles opted in (by paying $97 million) to the Voluntary Alternative Redevelopment Program to keep the CRA/LA alive even if the court finds the state's actions legal.
