MIRACLE MILE: The world's only consistently active urban Ice Age excavation site (the La Brea Tar Pits, duh!) has gotten a fancy new website featuring tons of sweet tooth and tusk action. According to site designers Hello Design, "Features of the website include updates of new discoveries as they happen; downloadable scavenger hunts and teacher guides; an interactive map of the campus and suggested itineraries; a chronological overview of the La Brea Tar Pits and surrounding area." The project also aims to link up the outdoor excavation activities with the indoor Page Museum activities. You can see Hello's video intro to the Page and the Tar Pits down below. [Curbed Inbox]

WEST HOLLYWOOD: Well, it's late December, everyone's left town, and the only ribbon cuttings you're going to get are for parking lots. WeHo will be bringing out the oversized novelty scissors for tomorrow's celebration of the new public lot at 9056 Sunset Blvd. (at Doheny Dr.), which will be open from 8 am to 2:30 am and cost just $1 per hour. The lot will work on the "punch your space number into the payment machine" model and was and includes "advanced filtration devices and extensive landscaping." [Curbed Inbox]
