Yesterday, the LA County Board of Supervisors signed off on a plan for 12 bathroom makeovers at the Hollywood Bowl, so go ahead and bring that extra bottle of wine on your next trip to see the Philharmonic accompany Lana Del Rey or whatever. Supe Zev Yaroslavsky's website reports that Rios Clementi Hale Studios will be handling the rehab of six men's and six women's bathrooms--plans call for new layouts, all new fixtures, waterless urinals, "lightning quick Dyson hand dryers," indirect lighting, new partitions, and "bold new graphics inspired by the Bowl’s Art Deco architectural style" to assist with wayfinding. Green floors are under consideration, "as a way of bringing a suggestion of the outdoors into stylish white-black-and-stainless-steel interiors." The project is expected to cost $3 million, with funds coming from the Prop. A park improvement bond measure. Final designs are in the works now.
