The LA Zoning Administrator has rejected what the Melrose Village blog calls a "mega-senior living facility" for Sierra Bonita Ave. between Waring and Willoughby. The property owner had requested a variance to replace the current buildings with a 4,636 square foot, for-profit residential care facility. John Darnell, field deputy for City Councilmember Paul Koretz (who opposed the project) tells MVB in an email that "The property is allowed to have a small facility in each location, but we have not heard any plans to do so."
