LOS FELIZ: Today is Griffith Park's 115th birthday! On December 16, 1896, Griffith J. Griffith donated "bequeathed 3,015 acres of his Rancho Los Feliz estate as a Christmas gift to the people of Los Angeles," according to the Department of Recreation and Parks's website. Everyone thank the ghost of former owner Don Antonio Feliz, who is said to have scared Griffith off the land. [Curbed Inbox]

DOWNTOWN/BOYLE HEIGHTS: The First Street Bridge is set for a grand reopening on Tuesday--it's spent the past four years getting widened to accommodate the Gold Line Eastside Extension. According to a press release, the 1927 bridge "was widened by 26 feet to the north to restore the two west-bound lanes, the last lanes to remain closed until now." [Curbed Inbox]
