Excavation of construction debris and other "uncertified fill" at the Spring Street Park site started in October and is beginning to wrap up, blogdowntown reports. Tomorrow, the Parks Commission will vote on final designs for the Lehrer Architects-designed green space and open up the construction for bids. Firms will have until February 7 to come back with offers--in case bids come back high, the commission has separated "any sidewalk and tree well work in the public right-of-way into a 'additive alternate' that the city can choose not to build if funds run low."
