Artisan House Blows Up Main, Gold Hits Gold in Little Osaka, Train Station Heads to Bev Center, Ludo Teases

DOWNTOWN: Look out Bottega Louie, there's a new upscale market/restaurant in the area (kind of): The Artisan House has soft-opened at Main and Sixth at the bottom of the Pacific Electric Building. Sounds like it has a bit of everything ala Joan's on Third, but is not for the weak of wallet.

LITTLE OSAKA/SAWTELLE: Jonathan Gold is just bonkers for the corner restaurant that's opened at the hip new Yamaguchi Apartments. The esteemed food critic calls Tsujita LA's noodles "life-changingly good."

BEVERLY GROVE: Work is underway on a new brasserie/pub for the space that once housed Smokin' Joint at Third and La Cienega. Expect an interesting design--partners Sky Reiss and Dion Rottman plan something akin to a European train station. They're hoping for an early January opening.

LOS ANGELES: Celebrity chef Ludo Lefebvre is planning to open a restaurant somewhere in the city. The Downtown News reported that he was looking in the Arts District, but Ludo apparently says he's checking out spaces all over--so, Van Nuys, there's still hope.
