Now that Frank McCourt is selling the Dodgers, The Source's Steve Hymon believes it's time to put hard-to-reach Dodger Stadium out to pasture. "The Dodgers should be playing in a downtown Los Angeles ballpark that is part of the city and is easily accessible to mass transit -- not sitting on an isolated hill surrounded by mall-like parking lots," Hymon writes. Action needs to be taken soon, he says, before a new owner takes over and sinks money into the ballpark. Commenters seem torn, with some saying the nearly 50 year old stadium just needs a gondola connecting it to the Gold Line in Chinatown. (Meanwhile, what would happen to Chavez Ravine without the stadium?) [The Source]
