SoCal could be getting its first Zaha Hadid building, but it's going to be a private residence in La Jolla. Kinda lame. The Architect's Newspaper Reports that the La Jolla Community Planning Association had appealed the application for a 12,700 square foot, four bedroom, six bathroom house with indoor pool--they were concerned, in the words of one member, that the house is "significantly different from other neighborhood homes." However, the city's planning commission denied the appeal last month and the project can now go ahead. [A/N, image via]
