A developer called City Ventures has "unveiled" 190 houses in Signal Hill, Santa Barbara, and Brea that "require no natural gas and are comparably priced to normal neighboring homes, starting in the upper $200,000s," reports KPCC. The houses also meet LEED Gold certification and Energy Star certification, and exceed the state's Title 24 efficiency standards by 30%. They have solar panels and a little environmentally-friendly corporate tie-in--"the garages are pre-wired to charge the Nissan Leaf, a completely electric car." There have already been some move-ins in Santa Barbara and Signal Hill. [SCPR, image via]
