Well, this is embarrassing: LA County has only two of California's ten most educated cities and eight of its least educated ones, according to census data. In Bell Gardens, 44.9 percent of people over 25 have less than a ninth grade education (Maywood, Florence-Graham, Cudahy, Lennox, Bell, East LA, and Huntington Park also make the bottom ten). Meanwhile, in Palo Alto and several other NorCal cities (plus Manhattan Beach and La Cañada Flintridge), more than 70 percent of residents over 25 have bachelor's degrees. [California Watch]
