It's official--there'll be no park at the old South Central Farm site. The City Council voted today to approve a revision to its deal with owner Libaw-Horowitz that formerly required L-H to donate 2.6 acres of the 14 acre site for use as a park. Now L-H will instead pay about $3.6 million for renovations at other parks and a nearby housing project. It'll also be able to sell the full site to not one, but four clothing companies, that it's currently in escrow with. Darryl Hannah made an appearance at City Hall for the decision. [LAT, image via]
