The San Gabriel Valley Tribune tells the tale so far of the San Gabriel Valley's first big east-west bikeway, which would "stretch 22 miles from Claremont through Thompson Creek, touching the south end of the Fairplex, crossing the 10 Freeway and largely picking up an east-west bearing as a paved lane along San Jose Creek." In a 2010 draft of the county's bicycle plan, the project was listed as priority 47 out of 47 projects; after several local officials went to bat, it was listed number two in the most recent version of the plan.
