LAist tips us off to this visualization by Eric Fischer, which uses NextBus data to show 24 hours of Metro bus speeds in Los Angeles--in this case, November 10, 2011. Black means average speeds of less than 7 mph, red is less than 19 mph, blue is less than 43 mph, and green is 43 mph and above. According to Fischer, "As far as I can tell, LA buses spend most of their time at a through speed (average including stops) of about 10 miles per hour."
