Fly Over the Proposed Hollywood Freeway Cap Park

New, 103 comments

Go, Hollywood Central Park, go! The 44 acre plan to cap the 101 Freeway through Hollywood with a big old park (not to be confused with the Downtown 101 Freeway cap park) has a new website and a very dramatic digital flyover of the project. The project's website says they hope to start the environmental impact review process in the first quarter of 2012, with the Bureau of Engineering as the lead agency (previously, they'd told us they were starting in Q3 2010 with Caltrans as the lead agency, but whatever). The site also says that a working group with members from BOE, the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles, Councilmember Eric Garcetti's office, and the Friends of the Hollywood Central Park "has been meeting since May to prepare for the EIR."
