Playa Vista's Village Un-Damned, For Now

New, 1 comment

Once again, a judge has ruled the Playa Vista Phase 2 can go ahead, and developers say they plan to start work early next year. Eerily-named The Village includes 2,600 housing units, as well as office space, parks, and retail. The project's environmental impact report was originally passed in 2004, and has gone through a crazy cycle of lawsuits, appeals, revisions, and upholdings. Challengers, environmentalists who think the Ballona Wetlands should be left alone, say they'll petition the Supreme Court to take on the case. [LAT]
