We like Steve McQueen as much as the next person, we suppose--that is, unless the next person is whomever penned the listing copy for this Silver Lake triplex. "The property is a fully updated Spanish triplex retreat packed with charm and the former residence of none other than the king of cool himself - Steve McQueen. If you missed out on buying McQueen's sunglasses that sold for $70,000 at auction, or his 1970 Porsche 911S that sold for $1,375,000 (a car that's normally worth less than $100,000) earlier this year, here is your chance to purchase a solid investment property with no McQueen premium added." What--no "Don't let this one make a Great Escape and Getaway from you"? Missed opportunity. In addition to the McQueen trivia, the listing informs us that the 1920s property, which was last sold in a foreclosure auction only a few weeks ago, consists of three one-bedroom units and "has a new roof, upgraded electrical and copper plumbing, and onsite laundry. All units are nicely finished with Spanish tile flooring, recessed lighting, built-in closets, drawers, basement storage, newer cabinets, granite counters and individual AC units." It also states, "Walk through only with accepted offer," but no interior photos are provided, which we imagine ol' Steve would deem pretty uncool. Asking price for the 1,660 square foot rental property--which, according to Redfin went for $360,000 on October 17--is $599,900.
