Updated 10/4 The city of South Pasadena is kicking off the implementation of its Bicycle Master Plan this week, with an event tomorrow that coincides with the striping of a Class II bike lane on El Centro Street near Arroyo Vista Elementary School. The El Centro bike lane gives an entire lane of the street from Pasadena Ave. to Orange Grove Ave. over to bikes. The city's Bicycle Master Plan, approved in August, will also add a "green lane" with sharrow markings in the city's Mission ?District, green bike boxes at highly-trafficked intersections, way-finding signage, and bicycle racks and lockers, according to a press release. In sum, the Bicycle Master Plan includes 24 miles of bikeways. South Pas Patch has info on the Cycle South Pasadena event tomorrow, where officials will explain more about the project.
