The Friends of the Whittier Narrows Natural Area have dropped their lawsuit regarding the big San Gabriel River Discovery Center water and nature museum, but for a totally bitchy reason. The Friends' leader says "One reason we decided not to pursue the suit was why spend more of our dollars when we don't think (the project) will go anywhere." The already-approved museum has $9.8 million, but needs $12 million more; it can now get moving on fundraising. The Friends are concerned the project is too big and environmentally disruptive. [PSN]
