LA County's been accused of having poor jail conditions and a flood of new parolees are about to hit its rolls, so yesterday Sheriff Lee Baca and County CEO William Fujioka presented the County Supes with a plan "to demolish and rebuild Men's Central Jail downtown and build a new jail for women inmates at Pitchess Detention Center." The new men's jail would include "three 10-story towers in a 'podular' design"; the women's, in Castaic, would be a "village-style" compound. [City News Service]
