Muppets Took Manhattan, Now They're Taking LA

New, 2 comments

Details on the much-anticipated next Muppets movie are slowly leaking out--and we know everyone's excited. Via Geek Tyrant comes word the synopsis draws on development and preservation themes. Basically, the couple--the female is played by actress Amy Adams (pictured)--visit LA to discover a plot to drill for oil under the Muppet Theater, a move which would mean razing the Muppet Theater. In an effort to save the theater, all the Muppets are re-united ("Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management," for instance), for a fund-raiser to bring in $10 million for the theater. A tipster passes on word that the theater used in the film is in fact the S. Charles Lee-designed Los Angeles theater in downtown. But $10 million? Those furry hand puppets could buy half of Broadway with that much dough! The movie opens Nov. 23rd. Image of Adams via Movie Insider/theater via Etsy
