LITTLE TOKYO: The adult film industry has caught on to the LA food truck craze: Ron Jeremy stars in "The Flying Pink Pig," a take-off on the Flying Pig truck operated by Joe Kim. Well, Kim says he knew a movie was being made about his truck, but thought it was a "romantic movie"--he's now hopping mad. It's crazy timing for Kim because he's in the midst of opening a real restaurant version of his truck in Little Tokyo.
HOLLYWOOD: Last night saw the opening of The Spare Room at the Roosevelt, a lush new space that features two vintage bowling lanes and drinks by Aiden Demarest of the Edison. Food is coming, but for now you can feast on the purdy decor.
EAGLE ROCK: Vegetarian restaurant Fatty's is on a "creative break" currently, but the Colorado Avenue establishment has plans to return in a retooled format.
DOWNTOWN: More fresh produce, wine, and cheese for the Historic Core--neighborhood market Two Bits, at the bottom of the Alexandria Hotel on 5th Street, opened its doors on January 1st. The soft opening lasts until February 1st, when sandwich service begins. Current hours are 10 to 10, daily.
