All Hail the Tiki

New, 11 comments

If a new bar in North Hollywood has the Los Angeles Times re-visiting tiki culture, things don't seem so swell for tiki-fanatics out West. "More tiki bars have closed than opened over the last few decades, in stark contrast to cities such as London, where a tiki bar scene has grown in the last five years, or even New York, which boasts newly minted tikiphiles aplenty after the opening of tiki-influenced finds such as Painkiller and the Hurricane Club in 2010." C'mon, LA, get your tiki on. [LAT]
