LB May Drop Bike Registration Fee

In what the Los Angeles Times describes as an "olive branch" to local cyclists, Long Beach will consider nixing mandatory bike registration. While the program is intended to allow police to track stolen bikes, it also can result in fines of $400, according to one example in the story. Dropping the registration fee is just one of many bike-related issues (bike shares also recently arrived) getting more attention in Long Beach. [LAT]
