An auction was planned today for the former home of late actress Brittany Murphy and late husband Simon Monjack, but TMZ reports that’s off—for now. The 8,000 square foot Hollywood Hills house, on Rising Glen Road, was previously foreclosed on, as over $4 million is still owed on it, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Today’s auction was postponed for two weeks because Murphy’s mother, Sharon, is trying to sell it herself. Sharon Murphy initially put the house on the market in March (her daughter died in December ’09 and her son-in-law in May 2010), asking $7.25 million, before pulling it off the next month. In a recent piece on the actress’ death, The Hollywood Reporter mentioned Murphy bought the house from Britney Spears in 2003 for $3.9 million. Redfin has the home listed at just under $5 million, and described it as a five-bedroom, five-bathroom "extraordinary Mediterranean estate with stunning city views. Perfectly nestled at the end of a private cul-de-sac."
