Via the Pasadena Star News: "The Arcadia City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to suspend a program that traps and puts down coyotes in residential neighborhoods less than six months after it was reinstated." The program has nabbed 20 coyotes, who were killed after being caught since "state law prohibits them from being relocated," according to the paper. ("Past attempts in California and other states to relocate problem animals – including coyotes, bears and mountain lions – have produced unfortunate results," according to an older story out of San Diego. Animal activists in Arcadia had voiced unhappiness about the coyote-catching. [Pasadena Star News]
