WESTWOOD: The Los Angeles Unified School District may not be a fan, but you gotta love Jamie Oliver for encouraging healthy eating. According to Eater, Jamie's Kitchen, site of filming for "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution," opened to the public today on Westwood Blvd. in the Village. It's a mystery what is available there, but we hope to report back next week.

PICO/ROBERTSON: In mid-February, the Komodo food truck (Asian-influenced street food) is opening a brick-and-mortar on a Robertson storefront, next to Radio Shack and across the street from the city's most happening Starbucks.

WEST HOLLYWOOD: Dan Tana's owner Craig Susser opened a new restaurant on Melrose, near Doheny--a hop, skip, and a jump from DT--aptly called Craig's. Think similar food to Dan's, homemade pasta and good steaks, and some seriously bitchin' blue booths.

SANTA MONICA: Some high-class ice cream is coming to the new Santa Monica Place, with the opening of Beachy Cream (an ice cream sandwich purveyor similar to Cool Haus; they operate trucks and sell their wares at places like Whole Foods). Interesting flavors like strawberry balsamic and ginger molasses will be served up. Oh, and there may be girls in bikinis handing out treats.
