While replacing the doors at Rosemead City Hall recently, facilities workers stumbled on a forgotten time capsule that had been placed behind a dedication plaque in 1968, when the building was new. Last night, officials opened the box to find ads for supercheap cars (a '62 Studebaker for $59), photos of a barren Valley Boulevard, a budget showing the city general fund was less than $1 million, and detailed predictions of terrible events that have since come to pass.
