The Diller Scofidio + Renfro renderings for the Broad have finally made it to the Eastern seaboard, and New York Times architecture critic Nicolai Ouroussoff weighs in, writing that "Some of us saw the new museum building...[as Eli Broad's] best — and perhaps last — chance at redemption" for the mediocre cultural contributions he's made to the city in the past. Ouroussoff is overall disappointed with the design and like a lot of people misses the car aquarium we were once promised. Someone should start a petition to bring that back. [NYT]
