Meet the Pesky Kids of the Expo Line Western Stop

New, 32 comments

More art teases from the first leg of the Expo Line light-rail, which opens this year. The Source provides a look at artist Ronald Llanos' designs for the Western station; Llanos is a sketch artist and painter who wanders the city and draws images of neighborhood folks before filling them in with watercolors. The attached image--of neighborhood teens (is that a ciggie on the left?)--is one of 16 pieces by Llanos that had to be resketched on cermaic tiles, glazed, fired, cut into small pieces, and placed within panels. All for your enjoyment, commuters.
