Today, the City Council voted to ban any new supergraphics from going up in Hollywood, though grandfathered in are numerous projects, including the dingy-looking Metropolitan (signs are forthcoming). During today's meeting, City Council President Eric Garcetti (who may run for Mayor) said the supergraphics "inflate the price of real estate," while City Councilman Paul Koretz noted "advertisers and developers made tons of money from these supergraphics," but the signs need to be reined in.
