Resnick Reconsidered

LAT architecture critic Christopher Hawthorne re-reviews LACMA's Baby Piano and he likes it a little less now that there's art inside: "the building is not quite the supremely efficient and thoroughly adaptable 'machine' for displaying art that [LACMA director Michael] Govan and [architect Renzo] Piano suggested it would be. Instead, it is a space that appears to work markedly better for muscular art, and art that can stand up to natural light from those skylights, than for more delicate or intimate works."
