Clifton's Cafeteria Sells, Name Change for 14 Below, Obikà Mozzarella Bar Opens

New, 9 comments

DOWNTOWN: Andrew Meieran of The Edison fame is buying the Clifton’s Cafeteria on Broadway. The important details: It'll now be 24 hours, the Los Angeles Conservancy is thrilled because the historical details will be preserved, and the top-floor commercial bakery will be revived to offer fresh baked breads.

SANTA MONICA: Dive bar/ music venue 14 Below had a year-long shutter, and already it's gearing up for another revamp. It will now be known as CENTRAL Social Aid & Pleasure Club and, according to our bar-hopping sister, will continue to host live bands.

CULVER CITY: Ah, dairy. Tasty, tasty dairy. The Westfield mall in Century City is saying hello to Obikà Mozzarella Bar, which has just opened up (and a Beverly Center location is next). "At Obikà, the star of the show is the Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP which proprietor Silvio Ursini flies in three times a week from Italy’s Paestum and Agro Pontino regions." First class?
