Several miles of State Route 39 in the Angeles National Forest have been closed for five years, since a heavy rainfall flooded sections of the road in 2005. Business owners around the not-at-all-creepily-named Crystal Lake Campground, which is accessed by 39, are getting antsy, but Caltrans keeps pushing back an opening date. Caltrans blames weather and funding, while one desperate shop owner tells the San Gabriel Valley Tribune "I'll fix the pavement. I'll stripe it by hand." [SGVT]
