Wow, that Grandmarc Westwood project, which would rise near Neutra's Strathmore Apartments, is really disliked by a lot of well-known architects. The Planning Commission approved the project last month despite opposition from a group including Richard Meier, Hitoshi Abe, and Craig Hodgetts, according to the Architect's Newspaper. Opponents say the student housing project "is an example of 'mediocre' design and would cause traffic and parking problems and that the large amount of students in the building would tip the delicate balance of occupants in the area."
