Puzzling Pasadena Construction, Kenmore Towers in Koreatown

PASADENA: A reader sends in this (helpfully doctored-up) image and writes, "Every day on my way home from work, I drive by this address: 600 W. Colorado Blvd. Pasadena, CA. It seems to be a long, narrow piece of property (with address numbers between "600" and "798") along Colorado Blvd. between S. San Rafael Ave. and the Arroyo. For the past 6 months, they've been excavating and digging and building what appears to be an underground bunker (which is now mostly buried. Just this past month, small (20 foot square?) pieces of an old wood-framed structure have started appearing on the site. For the life of me, I can't find anything online to see if this is going to become a new residence, or if the adjacent property owner at 60 S. San Rafael owns this parcel(s) of land and is just expanding....I was wondering if your crack team of investigators could dig up any more info about wtf is going on?" [Curbed InBox]

KOREATOWN: The second phase of Kenmore Towers is now underway, announces a recent email, touting the 42-unit project at 540 Kenmore in Koreatown. Errr, we may have missed the first phase. Here's the web site. [Curbed InBox]
